Thanks to a tip from FotB pigpen51, we have learned that J&G Sales also has CZ 82 pistols for $199.95. Or about four cents cheaper than PSA before they raised the price in my cart. For an extra $30 (or about $10 more than PSA’s increased price) J&G will “hand select” one with a nicer finish for you.
And it looks like they allow you to provide your own C&R license at checkout, too.
It’s too late for me, though they also have spare magazines (and I plan to order a couple) but if you’re interested in a CZ-82, I’d recommend shopping J&G.
My first center-fire carry gun was a Polish Radom P-64, chambered in 9×18 Makarov. A straight blowback design, it kicked like a rented mule. But with it’s fixed barrel, it shot extremely well.
My youngest son could shoot it much better than myself. I had to change the trigger spring, I think it was called, to reduce the double action from maybe 30 pounds to a more usable 17 pounds, which also made the single action around 2 pounds or less. A hair trigger it was.
Sadly I ended up selling it during a time of financial need. It was a sort of clone of a Walther PPK, in some ways. And while it weighed I think 23 oz., it fit in the front pocket of my jeans, a thing I used during late night stops to our Walmart after leaving work at 3 AM. Walmart is no longer open 24 hours, and I no longer have to work.
I noticed that J&G has P-64 pistols in stock.
Four of them, right now.
That they are advertising as “gunsmith specials”, “in need of some repair”.
$249.95.
I don’t know if this is a good price or not, for those of you who have more confidence in your gunsmithing ability than I do.
I got mine for $179 at Cabela’s. It was built in 1969, and in unfired condition including a military holster which I converted into a holster which was more appropriate for modern concealed carry.
I was buying my ammo from Cheaper Than Dirt, which at the time was a good value. Now, not so much.
