Whipped Cream Difficulties

This edition of the obit watch has a little more snark than usual. Sorry about that.

“Salon“. Statement from “Salon”.

“After careful consideration, we have reached the difficult decision that our publishing model is no longer sustainable.” It seems to me like their publishing model hasn’t been sustainable for roughly the past 30 years.

But let’s remember “Salon” with a classic quote from John Scalzi:

“The seven most damaging words in the English language for the reputation of any novelist might very well be ‘I just wrote an article for Salon.'”

LIV Golf. Awful Announcing.

I am not a golfer or a golf fan, but I got a great deal of enjoyment watching LIV Golf as an organization. Not the games, just the whole history of them starting up, being flamed for taking Saudi money, collapsing when the Saudis pulled out. I almost want to call this the Fyre Festival of golf, but I know how I am about Fyre Festival references.
