Wendell Berry, agrarian writer. NYT (share link, may require registration or an email address or something). I’ve never read any of his books, but he published articles in the old “Country Journal” back when my people subscribed to it. I thought he was an interesting guy, but frankly kind of a crank.

Agreed. Remembering is gratitude. But I think there’s a difference between remembering and saying everyone should live like this, which is what I believe the late Mr. Berry would have wanted.
