Obit watch: July 21, 2023.

Jim Scoutten, noted shooting sports commentator. Thanks to Pigpen51 for tipping me off on this one, but it took me some time to find something I could link.

Tony Bennett. THR. Well covered pretty much everywhere, so not a lot to say.

Carlin Glynn, actress. NYT (archived). Other credits include “Three Days of the Condor”, “Law and Order: Criminal Intent”, and “Resurrection” (an interesting sounding movie I had not heard of until recently: parts of it were filmed in the area around Cattleman’s Steakhouse in Fabens).

Josephine Chaplin. IMDB.

Dick Biondi, noted Chicago DJ. I never listened to Chicago radio, but the name does ring a bell with me.

A moment of silence for Josephine Chaplin. 😉
Who, I note with amusement and respect, did not negotiate with criminals, as per the Hollywood Reporter article. If only the SDC were around to assist in her case, assistance would certainly have been provided with gusto. Glad it worked out even without assistance.

    Heh.

I’ve read somewhere else about the kidnapping of Chaplin’s body. I recall it being even stranger than it sounds, to the point where a musical about it would be a great followup to the one about Evita’s body.

Rich’s reference explained, for those who don’t read the SDC blog regularly.

Though I note we don’t officially have a policy on corpses or human remains: perhaps I need to add that.
