Mr. Green worked as a newspaper editor, public affairs officer for NASA, and university professor at Duke.<\/p>\n<p>He also worked for the <strong>Washington Post<\/strong> as their ombudsman from late 1980 to 1981. If you&#8217;re thinking, &#8220;Hey, that period sounds historically significant.&#8221;: yes, yes it was. \u201cJimmy\u2019s World&#8221; was published shortly after Mr. Green became ombudsman, and he conducted <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/archive\/politics\/1981\/04\/19\/the-players-it-wasnt-a-game\/545f7157-5228-47b6-8959-fcfcfa8f08eb\/?tid=a_inl\" target=\"_blank\">the paper&#8217;s investigation when it fell apart<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Since it fell off the front page, I wanted to also note here that I updated <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsfirings.com\/?p=14372\" target=\"_blank\">the &#8220;Use of force&#8221; post<\/a>: now with pyramids!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You know something?
