Today’s fun fact (suitable for use in schools)

Nationwide, only 402 “no-body homicide” cases have gone to trial since the early 1800s, said Thomas A. DiBiase, a former federal prosecutor and now a law enforcement consultant in Washington.

    Of those 402, how many resulted in convictions?

    No idea. The NYT did not give a figure.

    I suspect, though, if you analyzed it over time, the “no-body homicide” conviction is a lot more common today that it was in the early 1800s or 1900s.
